Hark! The Herald Angels Sing

Christ, by highest Heaven adored;
Christ the everlasting Lord;
Late in time, behold Him come,
Offspring of a virgin's womb.

Veiled in flesh the Godhead see;
Hail the incarnate Deity,
Pleased as man with men to dwell,
Jesus, our Emmanuel

This popular hymn celebrates the wonder of the incarnation, God made flesh.  The wonder of the Christ story is this ... the most magnificent, majestic Being was pleased to dwell among us.

... He gave up His divine privileges;
He took the humble position of a slave
and was born as a human being.
When he appeared in human form,
He humbled himself in obedience to God
and died a criminal's death on a cross
Philippians 2:7-8
